Subash Lamichhane and Siddhartha Shrestha have announced their candidacy for the position of President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Japan for the upcoming 12th General Convention, which is scheduled to be held on Sunday, July 20.

Both Lamichhane and Shrestha made their announcements during separate programs held in Tokyo on Saturday, July 12. They each presented their future plans and unveiled their respective election manifestos.

Lamichhane, who came to Japan in 2007 for higher education, is known among Nepali students in Japan as a supportive figure. Since 2011, he has been operating a restaurant business in Japan and has held leadership positions in various organizations. He has served as a member, vice president, and president of the Parbat Society Japan. During his tenure as Vice President of NRNA Japan, he is said to have won the hearts of many, according to informed sources.

Similarly, another candidate for president and current Vice President Siddhartha Shrestha has remained actively involved in the social sector. Shrestha has stated that he prioritizes work over words and believes in action rather than promises. Based on the time, continuity, and contributions he has made in social campaigns, he claims he is the right candidate to make the organization more efficient, transparent, and accountable.

According to Chief Election Commissioner Tilak Mall, the election process to select the new executive committee for the term 2025–2027 will begin at 11 AM on Sunday, July 20.
