Poet Ramesh Niraula’s Ghazal Collection “Bhavka Bhangalaharu” Launched

Himanshu Raya, Nepal : Renowned literary figure from Belbari, Morang, Ramesh Niraula has released his debut ghazal collection titled “Bhavka Bhangalaharu” (Emotions in Ripples). The book was formally launched during a grand literary event organized by the Belbari Literature Development Committee at the auditorium of Belbari Multiple Campus.
The book launch ceremony was graced by notable personalities including Belbari Municipality Mayor Dil Prasad Rai, Constituent Assembly Member Madhu Gurung, linguist Amrit Prasad Acharya, and Chairperson of the Sundarharaicha Art and Literature Development Committee Dr. Chhabi Vairagi Ghimire, among others.
Key attendees also included Belbari Multiple Campus Chief Bhupendra Prasad Koirala, Ward Chair of Belbari-3 Yogendra Prasad Subedi, President of Jhorahat Natya Samuha Bharat Barbarik, President of Bhanu Sajha Library Puran Yakkha, Secretary of Literature and Art Promotion Committee Pathari Shanishchare Laxmi Prasad Phuyal, President of Letang Literature and Art Sangam Ganesh Dawadi, President of Sirjana (Inaruwa) Lilanath Silwal, and Bindhu Dahal Mukdarshak, President of Progressive Writers’ Association Koshi Province.
Veteran writer and political activist Iran Rai offered an insightful introduction of Ramesh Niraula’s life and work, praising his literary contribution wholeheartedly.
Literary critic and journalist Keshu Birahi presented a critical analysis of the collection, highlighting how the ghazals address a wide range of themes—love, betrayal, pain, social distortion, and satire. He noted that Niraula’s work not only critiques societal ills but also inspires youth to walk on the path of truth and morality. Birahi further suggested that the manuscript could have benefited from in-depth discussion with experts prior to publication.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from literary figures and artists including Keshav Sunam, Dilliram Ojha, Shrestha Parikrama, Gopal Nepal, Dhanjeet Parajuli, N.B. Dahal Naveen, Ram Prasad Kharel, Romu Adhikari, Kishor Koirala, Prince Pramodkumar Dhakal, Rohini Rasik, Uma Sijapati, Ganesh Lama, Rohit Parai, J.B. Khatri, Yuvraj Thakuri, Badal Devi Chamling, Navaraj Pokharel Navshila, Sijan Shrestha, Bhim Basnet, Shiv Chanchha Rai, Ripumardan Khadka, Bikash Budhathoki, Sher Bahadur Khapangi Magar, Prakash Bhattarai, Sundar Bhatt, Binod Bibash Ghimire, K.P. Ghimire, Shekhar Magar, Tekraj Ekchai Magar, Prem Bahadur Gurung, Junu Budhathoki, Geeta Kulung Rai, and many others.
A special tribute was presented to Padam Binod Ghimire, former secretary of the then Belbari VDC, for his contributions in institutionalizing language, literature, and arts in the region.
Poets and writers such as Dr. Chhabi Vairagi Ghimire, Bharat Barbarik, Navaraj Pokharel Navshila, Hemsagar Pokharel, and Ekaraj Bhattarai recited pieces from the newly launched book. Likewise, singers and performers like Chiranjivi Kafle, Chandi Rai, and Sanu Rai performed ghazals featured in the collection, adding a soulful and serene touch to the event.
Ramesh Niraula, who entered Nepali literature through muktak (short poetic expressions), has been actively writing for years from Belbari. “Bhavka Bhangalaharu” marks his first published ghazal collection, showcasing his excellence in poetry, ghazal, song, and short stories. He currently serves as the President of Belbari Literature Development Committee and is actively involved in several social and literary organizations.
The event was chaired by committee vice-president Laxmi Regmi Subedi and hosted by writer and musician JB Thulung. Committee vice-president Govinda Chongbang delivered the welcome speech on behalf of the organizers.
