Meeting Between Indian Foreign Minister and Chinese President in Beijing

Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Tuesday. Jaishankar himself shared details of the meeting on social media platform X.
“I briefed him (Xi) on the recent developments in our bilateral relations. We place great importance on the guidance of our leaders in this regard,” Jaishankar wrote in his post.
Jaishankar is currently in China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. Prior to this, on Monday, he also met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Following the meeting, he stated that discussions were held regarding bilateral relations between India and China, including the resolution of border-related issues. This marks the Indian Foreign Minister’s first visit to China since the military standoff at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh in 2020, which had strained relations between the two countries.
