Weather Forecast for Nepal: Possibility of Rain in Multiple Regions

Kathmandu, Nepal: The Meteorological Forecasting Division of Nepal has stated that the country is currently under the influence of the monsoon system. In addition, a low-pressure area around Uttar Pradesh, India, is also affecting Nepal’s weather. The monsoon trough is currently near its average position.
Due to these influences, most parts of the country are experiencing generally cloudy conditions. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is currently occurring in some areas of Gandaki Province, a few places in Bagmati and Lumbini Provinces, and isolated places in other provinces.
For today afternoon, the Division has forecast generally cloudy weather across the country. Thunderstorms with light to moderate rainfall are likely in many areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, and in a few places of the remaining provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
There is a chance of light to moderate snowfall along with rainfall in some high hill and mountainous regions. Thunderstorms and strong winds are likely in some areas of the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
Tonight, partly to generally cloudy conditions are expected across the country. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely in a few hilly areas of Koshi and Madhesh Provinces, as well as in one or two places in the rest of the country.
Due to the likelihood of heavy rainfall in one or two places of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, the Division has urged the public to remain alert against potential risks of landslides, floods, and debris flows.
