Has the cinematic partnership between Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali truly come to an end?

New Delhi: Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are considered one of the most admired actor-director duos in Bollywood. However, recent rumors suggest that their relationship has soured.
The two had previously mesmerized audiences with their chemistry in films like Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat. These films not only created a storm at the box office but also won numerous awards. Fans have long been hoping to see this duo reunite on screen. But the latest reports from Bollywood corridors are likely to disappoint many. According to sources, the collaboration between actor Ranveer Singh and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has come to an end.
As per senior journalist Subhash K. Jha, a dispute arose between Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The reported fallout began after Bhansali did not cast Ranveer Singh in the lead role for his upcoming film Love & War. It was widely speculated that Ranveer Singh would play the lead in the project, but instead, Bhansali chose Ranbir Kapoor for the role.
The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. According to reports, Ranveer Singh was offered a secondary lead role in the film, which he declined. The role was eventually given to Vicky Kaushal. So far, neither Sanjay Leela Bhansali nor Ranveer Singh has issued any official statement regarding the reported rift.
On the work front, Ranveer Singh was last seen in the 2023 film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani opposite Alia Bhatt, directed by Karan Johar. In 2024, he made a cameo appearance in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. Currently, he is working on Aditya Dhar’s action drama Dhurandhar, whose first look was released on his birthday. The film also features Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal. Dhurandhar is scheduled for release on December 5, 2025.
