Bangladesh School Hit by Fighter Jet Crash: 19 Death, 164 Injured

A tragic incident occurred in Bangladesh as an Air Force F-7 BGI trainer fighter jet crashed into the premises of Milestone School in the Diabari area of the capital, Dhaka, on Monday afternoon. The crash claimed the lives of 19 people and left 164 others injured.

According to Brigadier General Mohammad Zahid Kamal, Director General of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Department, most of the deceased are believed to be students. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals, including the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute near Dhaka Medical College, Kurmitola Hospital, Combined Military Hospital, and Uttara Modern Hospital.

Following the incident, government legal advisor Professor Asif Nazrul expressed deep sorrow and assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted to determine the cause of the crash.

According to Milestone College professor Rezaul Islam, the crash occurred around the time when the school was about to close. In response to the tragedy, the government has declared a national day of mourning.
