Subhash Lamichhane Wins as NRNA Japan President by a Margin of 1,959 Votes

 Lokmani Rijal, Japan : According to the results of the NRNA Japan election held yesterday, Subhash Lamichhane has been elected as president, winning by a margin of 1,959 votes. Lamichhane secured 7,152 votes, defeating his rival Siddhartha Shrestha, who received 5,193 votes. Tikaram Kharel has been elected as Senior Vice President with 6,418 votes, while his competitor Krishna Gaire Sharma received 5,927 votes.

Shyam Kumar Shrestha (Shyam Sital) won the position of General Secretary with 6,384 votes, defeating his opponent Bishwas Gautam (Khagaraj), who obtained 5,961 votes. Other elected office bearers include Tikaram Kharel as Senior Vice President; Bishnu Prasad Subedi (Bishwa) as Regional Vice President; and Mukti Ram Khanal (Binod), Dilip Kandel, and Dipak Sunar as Vice Presidents. Similarly, Netra Pande and Dilli Prasad Sapkota were elected as Secretaries (Open), Sagar Karki as Regional Secretary, Mukti Raj Regmi as Treasurer, Sandip Jisi as Regional Deputy Treasurer, Ramu Kandel as Open Deputy Treasurer, and Dipak Burja Magar as Youth Coordinator.

The elected members include Milan Aryal, Kamlesh Jisi, Nabin Dip Gurung, Nirajan Malla, Krishna Prasad Bhusal, Bhim Bahadur Budhathoki, Suresh Sapkota, Prakash Bishwakarma, Shankar Subedi, and Kushal Poudel. Eight members representing Japan in the ICC had already been unanimously elected earlier: Krishna KC, Tikaram Kandel, Ram Bahadur Khatri, Shiv Hari Poudel, Yaduram Sapkota, Raj Kumar Adhikari, Suman Karki, and Ram Bahadur Thapa. Similarly, the following were elected unopposed: Sachin Shrestha as Coordinator of the Accounts and Discipline Committee; Anju Bhandari as Women Vice President; Lalita Tamang as Women Secretary; Kamana Bhandari as Women Deputy Treasurer; Manju Ban as Women Coordinator; Aryal and Santoshi Adhikari as Women Members; and Krishna Prasad Kandel and Ashok Nirola as members of the Accounts and Discipline Committee. The three-member election committee, chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Tilak Malla, conducted the virtual voting using the U.S.-based Votaz system.
