Congress Disciplinary Action Against Rai for Following Biplav’s Ideology; Rai Appeals for Justice

In Nepal : The Central Disciplinary Committee of the Nepali Congress has suspended Khotang District President Bishnu Kumar Rai’s party membership for one year as a disciplinary action. In response, Rai has filed an appeal demanding the annulment of the decision.
The expelled district president claimed the action taken against him was biased and submitted an appeal to the Nepali Congress Central Committee on Saun 12 (July 27), seeking a review of the decision. He has presented a seven-point justification to overturn the disciplinary action.
Rai was disciplined based on a complaint alleging that he acted against the party’s official candidate during the 2079 (2022) provincial and federal elections.
The meeting of the Nepali Congress Central Disciplinary Committee held on Asar 17 (July 1) decided to suspend Rai’s party membership for one year, stating that he played a role in defeating the party’s official candidate.
