A massive fire has broken out at a large oil depot near the tourist city of Sochi on Russia’s Black Sea coast. Russia has claimed the blaze was caused by a Ukrainian drone attack.

According to Krasnodar region governor Veniamin Kondratyev, debris from the drone struck a fuel tank, sparking the fire. The blaze, which started early Sunday morning, was battled by 127 firefighters and was later brought under control. Due to the incident, Sochi Airport temporarily suspended flights.

Meanwhile, Russia has carried out another bombing on a major bridge in Ukraine’s southern city of Kherson. The attack killed one man, while local authorities reported seven people injured in the neighboring city of Mykolaiv and several houses destroyed.

On Saturday, Ukraine stated that at least seven civilians were killed in Russian attacks on the Kherson and Donetsk regions.

Russian officials said the Sochi oil facility strike was one of several drone attacks Ukraine conducted between Saturday and Sunday. Ukrainian drones reportedly targeted infrastructure in Ryazan, Penza, and the border city of Voronezh. The governor of Voronezh confirmed that four people were injured in one of the attacks.

Ukraine has not commented on these strikes so far. In response to Russia’s continued attacks on Ukraine’s power infrastructure, Ukraine has been targeting Russia’s energy facilities.

According to Russia’s defense ministry, 60 out of 93 drones launched from Ukraine on Saturday night were intercepted over the Black Sea region alone.

Ukraine’s Air Force, however, claimed that Russia launched 76 drones and 7 missiles overnight, of which 61 drones were shot down. It confirmed that 16 drones and 6 missiles struck eight different locations.
