The death toll from the flood that struck Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India, the day before yesterday has risen to five.

According to Indian newspaper Hindustan Times, more than 100 people are still missing. Among the missing are 11 personnel from the Indian Army.

Rescue and relief operations are ongoing, the report said. According to local residents and government officials, around 25 hotels have been swept away, and a large part of the Dharali Bazaar has been completely damaged.
