Call for Inclusion: Republican Party Urges Government to Ensure Representation of Christian Community

Kathmandu: The Aamul Parivartan Republican Party, Nepal has formally appealed to the Government of Nepal to ensure fair and proportional representation of the country’s approximately 3 million Christian population.
In a recent press statement, the party drew the government’s attention through the Office of the President, emphasizing the need for inclusive participation of the Christian community in state mechanisms. The party expressed concern over the absence of Christian representation in the current political landscape, particularly in the formation of the Council of Ministers.
According to the statement, despite being a significant segment of the population, the Christian community remains underrepresented in key state institutions.
The party described this imbalance as unjust and inconsistent with the principles of inclusion. It further noted that even in past elections, where political parties secured strong mandates, the concerns and representation of the Christian community were largely overlooked. The party stressed that the current context demands a more equitable and proportional approach to representation.
Highlighting constitutional values, the party urged the government to uphold the spirit of inclusivity and proportional representation as enshrined in the constitution, laws, and regulations. It called for mandatory inclusion of the Christian community in the Council of Ministers, constitutional bodies, and other vital state structures.
The statement, signed by the party’s अध्यक्ष, concluded that only through equal rights and participation of all communities can an inclusive and balanced system of governance be achieved.
