Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has announced the final application window for landless Dalits, landless squatters, and unmanaged settlers in 66 local units to facilitate land distribution and the regularisation of informal settlements.

According to a public notice issued by the Land Problem Resolution Committee, eligible applicants must submit their applications within 35 days, beginning 20 July (Shrawan 4). The application process aims to collect the necessary information for providing land to landless Dalits and landless squatters, while also managing the settlement status of unmanaged occupants.

Applicants are required to complete the prescribed application form and submit it to their respective local governments. Beneficiaries may also file their applications through designated field enumerators deployed at specified locations within their wards. The concerned local authorities have already published detailed guidelines regarding the application process.

The Committee has urged all eligible landless Dalits, landless squatters, and unmanaged settlers to submit their applications along with the required supporting documents within the stipulated deadline. It warned that those who fail to apply within the specified period may not be included in the subsequent stages of the programme, describing this as the final opportunity to participate in the land management initiative.
