Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Ravi Lamichhane has appealed to party leaders, members and supporters to prioritize the protection of lives and rescue of citizens affected by the floods in Rasuwa and actively engage in disaster management in a responsible and coordinated manner.
Lamichhane urged people living in flood- and disaster-prone areas to move to safer locations, avoid remaining in risky areas and fully follow the instructions issued by local authorities and security agencies. He also requested the public to rely only on information provided by official government agencies, local administrations, security bodies and credible media outlets.
He appealed to everyone not to spread unverified information, rumors or false claims through social media during this sensitive period. According to Lamichhane, misinformation could create additional difficulties for rescue and relief operations and cause unnecessary fear and panic among the public.
Lamichhane also urged RSP leaders and activists, from the local to central levels, to coordinate with local administrations and security agencies and actively participate in rescue, relief and volunteer activities. Emphasizing that saving lives, ensuring safe rescue and providing humanitarian assistance should be the common priorities at this time of crisis, he expressed solidarity with the flood-affected citizens and called on everyone to remain safe and help one another.
