Kathmandu: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has telephoned Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah to express condolences over the loss of lives caused by the devastating floods in Nepal.

During the telephone conversation, Modi expressed his deep sympathy to the families who lost their loved ones in the disaster. He said India stands with Nepal during this difficult time.

Modi also assured Prime Minister Shah that India is ready to provide all possible humanitarian assistance to Nepal. He said India would extend necessary support for rescue, relief and other emergency operations in the flood-affected areas.
